Q: Where and when does the league meet?

A: We bowl at Bird Bowl Bowling Center in Miami, FL. We meet every Monday night at 7:50pm from September through May (excluding Holiday weeks). See SCHEDULE for specific inquiries.

Q: Who bowls in our league?

A: Everyone is welcome to bowl in our Gay/Lesbian friendly league. Teams consist of 4 men and/or women in any combination.

Q: Do I have to be a good bowler to join Miami Rainbowlers?

A: NO, absolutely not!  Our bowlers each have different bowling capabilities.  We have a mix of bowlers whose scores run the gamut of the scoreboard. But everyone tries their hardest and has fun doing so, which is the most important thing!

Q: Does the Miami Rainbowlers do anything else besides bowling?

A: Of course!  We promote fun and enjoyable experiences for everyone. We have MANY events throughout the year. Events include...

1. Monthly birthday celebrations
2. Monthly potluck dinners
3. Organized outings
4. Thanksgiving "turkey shoot"
5. December Holiday party
6. Year End Awards Banquet
7. Weekly "50/50” drawing.

Q: Does the Miami Rainbowlers have League Bylaws? Rules and Regulations?

Q: Do you keep score or just bowl for fun?

A: We do BOTH! We keep official scores throughout the season.  Each player has a handicap so that it “levels the playing field”, so to speak.  This gives all players an opportunity to win prizes at the end of the season.  Of course, we have fun bowling every time, even if competition plays a small role!

Q: Do you award teams/bowlers with prizes for scores?

A: YES! We have a Year End Awards Banquet with food, music and AWARDS. Each season a prize committee comprises a prize fund for season end. The prize fund has a broad range of both individual awards and team awards.

Q: Do I pay an initiation fee to join the Miami Rainbowlers?

A: Our members are sanctioned by the USBC (United State Bowling Conference) for Men and Women. All members, whether returning or new, must pay the standard sanction fees -- Men $18 and Women $19.

Q: How much does it cost to bowl in your league?

A: Currently, the fee for bowling is $18.00 per week.  The first week of bowling will include your sanction fee (see above), as well as the first weeks bowling fee.  You can pay by cash or check.

Q: What, if anything, is included in my weekly fee to bowl?

A: Paying $18 allows you bowl 3 games for the evening.  It also helps pay for the end of season prize fund, for which we give our payouts from.  Your weekly fee DOES NOT INCLUDE shoe rental.
